Mother Madelaine Award 2007 Leana Capuano of Canton, Ohio, has long been a supporter of the Sisters of the Humility of Mary and their ministries. On September 9, 2007, the Sisters honored her dedication to and support of their mission by presenting her with the Mother Madelaine Award. Sister Susan Schorsten, Pastoral Leader, presented the award which consists of an engraved glass sculpture and a certificate recognizing her contribution to the work of the congregation. The award, named for the co-founder of the community who gave all that she had in service to the poor, is presented by the H.M. Leadership Team. From current members of the Heritage Society: "My reasons for joining the Heritage Society are many and include sincere and deep respect for the Sisters and their many ministries." "Through the Heritage Society, I can help ensure that the Sisters' ministry of serving the poor and bringing them more abundant life will continue." "I am in awe of the extent and diversification of the works of the Sisters. There seems to be no limit to their reaching out to others in need." |
