HM Sisters Join Faith Communities in Next 100 Days of United Prayer and Action
Villa Maria, PA-In July, the Sisters of the Humility of Mary participated in 100 Days of Prayer, Fasting, and Advocacy, an initiative of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR). This initiative arose from meetings earlier this year between congregational leaders, communicators, and justice promoters in response to the question “what is ours to do at this time?”
On October 1, LCWR launched the Next 100 Days of Prayer, Fasting, and Advocacy. Please join the sisters virtually on Tuesday, November 11, as they once again commit to a day of prayer, fasting, and advocacy.
A virtual prayer space will be open from 2:00-4:30 p.m. for all to join to sit in quiet contemplative prayer together. The session will close with the sisters’ weekly scheduled afternoon virtual prayer. You can access the prayer room at the following link. Please mute your microphone when you enter the prayer space to keep it a welcoming environment for all participants.

The sisters invite all to participate in the fasting action as they are able and in whatever way is meaningful to the individual—perhaps by restraining from actions that contribute to division or injustice. As part of the advocacy component of the day, all are also encouraged to contribute to local food banks or food drives in their area.
The Sisters of the Humility of Mary are a community of women religious who share Jesus’ mission of bringing more abundant life to God’s people. We are called to live the Gospel through our vowed life in community; respond to the needs of the times with vision, courage, and generosity; open our hearts and homes in hospitality; and reflect God’s life-giving presence to those with whom we live and minister, and to all in our global community. We are committed to embrace the diversity of all peoples; work with others to proclaim the Gospel message; use our resources to meet needs, especially those of people who are poor; and do justice.
